Job Description

Summary of the Job:-

  • On a day to day basis, support and collaborate with the APAC Country claims organizations to deliver market leading claim resolution, recovery and avoidance outcomes that optimally balance accuracy, speed, customer service, and expenses across all Life lines of business.
  • Ensure that all Life claims that meet large loss and complexity referral criteria are quickly and accurately identified, escalated, and reported to all relevant audiences, reserved and optimally resolved
  • Collaborate with line Employees, Country leaders, and other internal parties to continuously improve Life claims processes, systems, and facilities to best position Claims to deliver excellent service & high quality outcomes, and adapt to changing market conditions and support a sustainable growth of the business
  • Support the development of Life claims employees including technical, operational, and personal development; assist Asia Pacific countries in sourcing, and hiring of the Claims team, and develop a qualified pool of Claims professional for future development.
  • Develop and maintain strong, productive, value added relationships with internal (APAC Countries, Regional Team, Life underwriters, and other business units) business, and external distribution partners.  Actively engage in product development, marketing, and account maintenance initiatives as needed

Key Responsibilities:-

  • Execute and alignment with the Best Practices (BPs) in APAC Life:-
    • collaborate with GI to ensure that APAC Life BPs are aligned and consistent with GI/ Life BPs
    • collaborate with Life Regional peers to ensure that APAC BPs are consistently formatted for easy individual contributor consumption
    • collaborate with Country leaders to ensure that BPs are adapted to Country specific environmental nuances and clearly communicated and understood by all APAC Life Claims Teams
  • Co-owner and administrator of APAC Life Quality Assurance Program:-
    • Collaborate with GI, Regional peers, and Country claims leaders to develop, deploy and operationalize a comprehensive supervisory quality assurance program for sustainable growth
    • Continuously monitor and re-review aggregated supervisory reviews to ensure Country Life leadership calibration and development.  Regular report on performance trends and opportunities.  Sponsor and facilitate niche audits or formal training as needed.
    • Co-facilitate GI APAC Life BP Audits; and facilitate and follow up on associated action plans.
    • Collaborate with GI, Regional Peers, and Country claims leaders to develop a Life vendor audit program
  • Collaborate with Country leaders/ Regional peers to determine, develop, deploy and operationalize:-
    • a Life recovery process that efficiently optimizes returns and
    • an optimal Life claim registration, triage and assignment process that balances matching individual contributor skillset to claim complexity and organizational workload distribution
    • a through-put anchored staffing model across all Life functions
    • a Life organizational structure that optimally balances claim segmentation, staff specialization and leadership/ admin ratios

Requirement:-

  • Degree from a recognized University
  • A minimum 10+ years solid life claim assessment experience with at least 6 years in leading assessment teams
  • Proven strong leadership, people management, and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, able to communicate well in both business and technical aspects with people from at different levels
  • Professional qualification in life insurance including FLMI (Fellow, Life Management Institute), ALHC (Associate, Life and Health Claims), ACS (Associate, Customer Service) would be an advantage
  • Good PC knowledge in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Good command in both written English, and Chinese
