PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To work with the Design Department, Merchants, Vendors and Suppliers, taking responsibility for sourcing and the development of fabrics and color including garments and components to assure final product quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with the Design Department, Merchants, Procurement, Vendors, and Suppliers for sourcing, establishing and applying the regulatory standards of fabric performance and color control, including garments and components.
• Assist in the technical development, pre-production and cataloging of all fabrics and colors through to bulk production.
• Apply effective systems of Quality Management, both internally and with vendors to support the fabric and color development process and assure final product quality.
• Ensure that fabrics, colors and garment components are being regularly assessed against the required quality standards.
• Partner with the technical operations of the Distribution Center Quality Control team on issues regarding the quality of fabrics and color of all merchandise.
• Provide technical training and support on issues of fabric and color development and performance to the supplier base.
• Take control of the submissions with responsibility for the interpretation and communication of all departmental laboratory testing.
• Responsible for digital color approvals using Datacolor International’s Imagemaster/Colorite software for lab dips and first bulk with qualified fabric suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor Degree holder of Technical Education in Textile Science or equivalent with 2-3 years of practical experience.
• Knowledge in garment product development and Intimate Apparel business is highly preferable.  
• Proactive and willing to learn.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Travel is required.
