Reports to: CEO
Salary: Competitive with bonus potential
Travel: Mainly within China, limited overseas travel of 10-20%
Location: Hong Kong (with time in Shenzhen office)


Job Duties

The General Manager- Asia Operations will work with the CEO and others in the Leadership team, including a Deputy General Manager – Asia Operations, to successfully implement the strategies agreed with the ICTI CARE Board that are informed by our stakeholders and own internal expertise.

Specifically, they will be responsible for the management of the key functions operating in the Hong Kong & Shenzhen offices.

Critical Responsibilities

• The overall implementation of the ICTI CARE Certification Program at factories
• Process and Management System implementation to ensure the program is implemented efficiently and effectively
• Management of Appeals & Grievances received by factories
• Development of the ICTI CARE Program in line with Stakeholder needs
• Co-ordination & consultation with the Technical Advisory Committee
• The management and development of all Hong Kong & China based staff
• The management of 3^rd party audit companies and auditors who are approved and registered with ICTI CARE
• Management of relevant ad hoc Working Groups as appropriate
• Communication with Toy Associations, Factories Management, local Buying office Staff as appropriate
• Effective budget management
• Crisis and issue management
• NGO engagement
• Delivery of organizational performance targets as set and agreed with the CEO
• Ability to work independently with remote supervision but consistently aligned to the corporate values and objectives as set out by the CEO and Governance Board
• Other duties as assigned
  
  
  

Skills & Experiences

• Native/Professional in Mandarin plus fluency in Cantonese and English is essential
• Expertise of manufacturing environment of mainland China – toy manufacturing expertise is an advantage
• Extensive knowledge of social compliance auditing
• Demonstrable and successful record of managing and developing internal staff and external parties
• Excellent communication skills
• A leader who is a team player who will motivate and inspire others                                                             
• University degree required
• Comfortable dealing with people at all levels of experience including CEOs, senior staff, and other professionals in responsible sourcing
