The Raw Material Assurance Team ensures Target’s supply chain delivers aesthetic and quality products through raw material management and responsible sourcing guidelines for Target’s own brand products.

Responsibilities

• This position will report to Senior Managing Director, Hong Kong Product Safety and Quality Assurance.
• Develop Target Raw Material Assurance program, i.e., raw material inspection process, visual quality standards and acceptable quality level (AQL), validation of material claims, etc.
• Ensure production management capability and manufacturing capacity/capability are assessed objectively and properly based on Target’s facility assessment and assurance criteria.
• Engage in new raw material supplier vetting and exploration process that supports material sourcing decision-making and long-range business plan. Onboard new suppliers.
• Assess and review raw material suppliers in overall performance, sustainability in quality and compliance, capacities and capabilities; provide timely feedback to raw material suppliers of their performance.
• Identify opportunities for material supplier improvement and drive improvement initiatives.
• Actively engage upstream (e.g., risk identification, quality assurance and compliance standard, visual raw material quality acceptance level setup, etc.) with material development and sourcing teams.
• Convert raw material quality and assurance improvement initiatives into cost saving to support the COGS reduction.
• Perform on-site quality inspections as necessary.

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Engineering and/or applicable technical major (i.e., textile, chemistry, material, etc.)
• Minimum 8 -10 years’ verified technical experience in raw material manufacturing within Quality Assurance, Quality Control or Laboratory Testing across different material categories
• Solid background in quality and/or technical and/or engineering perspective
• Expert in quality assurance processes, procedures and tools
• In depth knowledge of US regulatory and safety requirements
• Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Collaborative focus and ability to work successfully across functional areas
• Works autonomously to manage all day-to-day operations with little or no supervision from the manager
• Able to travel frequently
• Ability to perceive and differentiate between colors
• Language: fluent in English and local language
• Computer skill: familiar with Microsoft Windows and Office software applications
