Job Description

The Unit Head - AVP interacts with all levels of professionals both within GS and the broader State Street Company. Therefore, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates must demonstrate initiative, be able to perform well under pressure and simultaneously direct multiple tasks. Unit Head is responsible for maintaining direct internal client relationships and the day-to-day operations of the team.

 

Responsibilities:

Customized Reporting

  • Coordinate and liaise with Client Services on client requirements for any new request and change request.
  • Manage internal workflow to ensure client deliverables in timely and accurate manner.
  • Coordinate and liaise with IT on system/macro development and user acceptance test in regards to new/enhanced customized reporting.
  • Assess process improvement opportunity to achieve higher operational efficiency and maintaining satisfactory control environment that mitigate operational risks.

Client Oversight

  • Oversee daily client queries, and coordinate with Client Services and other operational units to ensure client queries are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and facilitate discussion between Client Services and other operational units to address client's concerns or request, including taking the lead to formulate new operational workflows among operational units.
  • Coordinate regular client services calls/meetings to understand any servicing issues.

Outsourcing Oversight

  • Oversee the service provided by the outsourcing units.
  • Ensure service standards are met according to executed Service Level Agreement.
  • Act as representative in liaising on servicing issue and new request between business and outsourcing units.
  • Take lead in regular service calls with outsourcing units to represent business interest.

 

 

Transition Management Coordination

  • Work closely with Client Services on client transition and asset transfer requirements.
  • Coordinate and liaise with Transition Manager and different internal operational units to ensure seamless client transition and asset transfer.
  • Formulate and execute operational transition plan, and monitor the entire transition process (before, during and post transition) to resolve any issue.
  • Assess process improvement opportunity while maintaining satisfactory control environment that mitigate operational risks.

Staff Management

  • Manage and oversee development of subordinate staff.
  • Create a climate that motivates and supports people to achieve higher performance and that develops their capabilities for the future.

  • Equivalent to a Bachelor degree in Finance, Business or related field.
  • At least 8 years of related finance/custody experience, including 4-5 years of management experience.
  • Fund accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and management skills.
  • Strong problem resolution and analytical skills.
  • Excellence communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency and working knowledge of various software applications.
