Responsibilities:  

• Prepare accrual journals and monthly reconciliation for the balance sheet items
• Prepare monthly closing general ledger and financial reports
• Prepare financial statements and perform bank reconciliations and reconciliation of intercompany balances and reinsurers
• Prepare and maintain schedules, control lists and proper records of day to day financial transactions to facilitate monthly analysis and year end audits
• Prepare audit and tax schedules for statutory audit and tax filing for the company
• Prepare reporting financial schedules to Actuaries for OCI filing purposes
• Understand the IFRS and HK Financial Reporting Standards and make sure the group accounting standards are strictly followed.
• Participate in financial projects as required (including the design and scope of the financial operational workflow for new business initiatives)
• Assist in IT end user support and testing
• Responsible for promoting an environment where a risk management culture can flourish
• Ensure key control procedures have been executed and any risk matters are reported to management.

Requirements: 

• Degree holder, Qualified Accountant or undertaking professional examination
• Member of Professional Accounting Association preferred (eg. HKICPA, ACCA or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years financial operations and reporting experience.  Working experience with the insurance industry will be a plus.
• Proficient in financial reporting, month and year end closing procedures
• Knowledgeable in accounting standards, Hong Kong Company Ordinance
• Analytical, cross-cultural and enthusiastic
• Excellent interpersonal skills and fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese
• Self-motivated and with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in Excel spreadsheet & MS Office software application
• Knowledge on other relevant regulatory framework for insurance industry will be a plus
• Proficient in the use of Accounting System. Knowledge of Oracle accounting system will be a plus
