Summary of the Position

You will oversee all electrical and electronics product development projects, from conceptualization to manufacturing. Your deliveries should be aligned with the company’s mission and you should ensure the product meets or exceeds targets on cost, timing and performance. The position requires the ability to work i) independently and ii) effectively with other disciplines, including mechanical engineering, production engineering and business functions. You will be especially involved in managing all aspects of QFE’s electrical and electronics supply chain, including identifying, qualifying and building relationships with supply chain partners. Regular travel to Mainland China will be required.

You must be able to operate independently and be a clear, candid, and effective communicator in both spoken and written English. You should be motivated, reliable, thorough, and excited about developing new products with the potential to dramatically reshape global energy infrastructure dynamics.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or a related field;
• At least 6 years of relevant experience in electronics or electrical engineering or related.

Skills and Knowledge

• Proven experience in the development, testing or manufacturing of power electronics (such as UPSs / inverters / chargers / power supplies) or Li-ion batteries (either cells or packs) is highly desirable;
• Familiar with circuit design and analysis and test techniques for analogue and digital circuitry;
• Excellent track record of project management skills: consistent delivery of assignments and projects on time, on budget and according or exceeding specifications.
• Proven experience working specifically with supply chain partners in Mainland China;
• Leadership experience – knows how to manage different personality types and motivate a team;
• High level of proficiency in English and Mandarin;
• Existing right to work in Hong Kong is a plus.

Specific duties may include:

• Identify, assess and develop strong relationships with supply chain partners including component distributors, ODMs/OEMs, testing & certification bodies etc.;
• Collaborate with QFE’s Senior Product Development Engineer (Mechanical) and CTO to propose action strategies, project timelines and product roadmaps;
• Coordinate with QFE engineering and business teams to ensure technical decisions, non-technical decisions and development progress are aligned and communicated effectively;
• Engage in team brainstorms to identify problems and to propose, debate, justify and implement viable resolutions;
• Draft clear, concise and detailed development/manufacturing specification documents that outline all key parameters of components that are to be developed and/or manufactured by ODM/OEM partners as well technical manuals for the developed products.
