Job Description

Key Responsibilities

 

Commercial

  •    Build a solid understanding of our clients (contact, commodities, trade lanes, type of business, contract information including exceptions and service requirements) and be involved in entire process of yearly bidding of both controlled and non-controlled Key Client accounts.
  •    For Controlled accounts, we will cover all of the listed administrative tasks along with being the advocate for the Key Client throughout the Organization insuring that Maersk Line is providing world class service
  •    For non-controlled accounts, adequate follow-up on forecasts, delivered volume, and communication with colleagues overseas to make sure that we do everything possible to deliver the volume.
  •    Create value for our customer so that our product has “stickiness” and we “win where we target.”

Administrative

  •    Formulate and manage service contracts with customers.
  •    Ensure replies to all sales leads and key correspondence are delivered within 24 hours.
  •    Communicate service or rate changes, notable trends, policies and other relevant information to assigned accounts.
  •    Assist with processing price quotes, rate negotiations and tailor made solutions based on customer’s needs.
  •    Effectively assist in problem resolution through delegation to the corresponding internal department, most importantly to Customer Service/Operations
  •    The sales support is taking an end-to-end view on process and business, ensuring tasks/issues are followed through

Prerequisites:

 

  •  A Bachelor's degree is preferred with 2-3 years industry or equivalent sales or customer service area experience. You should have excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (both written and oral) to handle challenging situations with multiple level internal and external stakeholders. In addition, you should have organizational and time management skills including multi-tasking, prioritizing, and the ability to plan work activities efficiently to meet deadlines. It is also important that you are solution minded, always positively looking for alternatives rather than wait for an answer from your manager.
  • You should have high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook) and a strong ability to quickly grasp and work with web-based software.
  • Fluent written and oral Mandarin, Cantonese, and a good standard of written and oral English is a non-negotiable necessity.
