The Job:

• Communicate with US Technical Design to ensure understanding of fit, construction, pattern revisions, styling direction, etc.
• Proactively communicate detailed expectations of overall fit & construction execution to vendors and/or pattern-makers as requested by US Development Team for prototype development & re-development.
• Maintain consistency in product fit / construction across all factories. 
• Assure proper pattern utilization / application for prototypes.  Provides quick answers to vendors regarding grading and / or construction. Reviews prototypes for main measurements, construction & styling.
• Work with stakeholders to review prototypes and products that meet the required standards.
• Validate that the approval pattern & grading application is utilized in production without changes at factory level.  Review on-going production for compliance to tech pack.
• Troubleshoots potential production issues & recommends alternative solutions to US Development Team.
• Train and develop factory expertise & consistency.

 

The Person:

• University graduates and/or diploma in clothing technology, or similar discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a technical designer or similar position.
• Solid understanding of apparel patterns.
• Experience applying grade rules to retain established fit, styling, and function and sew ability.
• Experience developing multiple product lines a strong plus, eg Woven top & bottom, Functional Outerwear, Cut & Sewn knit.
• Thorough understanding of product engineering and manufacturing process, sample room experience is definitely an advantage.
• Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills are required.  Mandarin a plus.
• Ability to verbally explain construction fit and pattern revision instructions clearly and concisely.
• Extensive computer experience including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience in Adobe Illustrator or PDM software preferred but not required.
• Travel as required.
