General Responsibilities

This position is responsible for implementing AML/Sanctions compliance testing plans for the firm's APAC Region, reporting The team leader will supervise a team of dedicated AML/Sanctions compliance testers that conduct targeted reviews to assess the design and effectiveness of the firm's AML/Sanctions controls and processes for compliance with applicable AML/OFAC/Sanctions regulations and adherence to corporate AML/Sanctions policies, procedures, and processes.

This work includes completing timely and appropriately scoped reviews pursuant to the established schedule; assessing data samples when necessary to determine if practices adhere to applicable AML/Sanctions laws, regulations and regulatory expectations; discussing findings with management; and documenting findings in written reports and workpapers.

* Manage a portfolio of AML/Sanctions and financial crimes compliance reviews to determine if business processes, procedures, and controls are designed appropriately and operating effectively;

* Supervise a team of AML/Sanctions compliance testers, including recruiting, assigning tasks, providing guidance, coaching, and completing performance evaluations of team members;

* Identify potential concerns and control issues, determine the root cause of issues and ensure stakeholders develop and implement appropriate corrective actions;

* Conduct on-going compliance monitoring activities and participate in special projects as required.

Qualifications:

* 5 to 10 years of relevant Compliance experience or other related experience such as risk management, audit, or similar control-relate experience; MBA or Bachelor's degree with professional certification preferred;

* Knowledge of AML/Sanctions compliance requirements and standards that impact a global financial services firm, such as KYC/client risk rating, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting, client screening/sanctions requirements, and risk assessment

* Knowledge of wholesale and consumer banking businesses and related products;

* Strong back-ground in internal or external audit is preferred due to the investigative nature of the role

* Strong communication, organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills. The candidate should have the ability to establish credibility and strong partnerships with senior business leaders, control functions, and corporate partners globally; and

* Ability to manage numerous reviews, and confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner in a fast paced deadline driven environment.

Candidates with less experience will be considered for the AVP  or less junior positions depending on skills and competence.

The ability to converse confidently in English and write concise reports for senior management will be of a distinct advantage, and good interpersonal and team working skills is taken as granted.

It is important that the candidates possess a desire to get things done and will rol up sleeves and undertake tasks and roles as is required.
