Within SWIFT, the Server and Workstation (S&W) team is looking for a technically strong and motivated System Administrator with a background in HP-UX and HP Storage. As S&W also is involved in the role-out of Red Hat on VMware, from time to time some activities on those environments will also be required. The main focus however is on HP-UX and HP Storage.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and maintain HP-UX and Storage;
• Implement maintenance and deployment processes and tools;
• Perform problem investigations related to VMware, Red Hat or applications and propose corrective actions and/or improvements;
• Perform day-to-day systems administration/maintenance activities to guarantee proper functioning of systems;
• Automate administrative tasks and improve the monitoring of infrastructure systems;
• Review problem situations and participate in the identification of opportunities for improvement to processes, procedures and tools;
• Interact with other Service Delivery Groups on problem investigations and system installations;
• New system installations/upgrades;
• Install software releases of common products on all supported systems;
• Occasional work outside normal office hours;
• Acquire, develop, maintain and share technical and product knowledge in order to be able to meet the above objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in IT or equivalent;
• At least 5 years’ experience on HP-UX (including virtualization) and Storage Management;
• Experience in a high available and resilient IT production environment:

• The following skills are required, listed in order of relevance:

• HP-UX expert;
• HP-UX Virtualization expert;
• Storage Management expert on HP Storage systems;
• Pre: Red Hat Enterprise Linux knowledge;
• Pre: EMC² Storage Systems knowledge;
• Pre: Oracle Solaris knowledge.
• Good analytical and problem solving skills;
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
• Self-motivated, self-organized, adaptable and responsive to change;
• Take accountability for delivering results;
• A good team spirit, eager to work in a multicultural environment
