Our client, a leading global financial institution is currently looking for multiple Java Developers for a high profile multi-year program to rebuild their middle/back office capabilities for Broker Dealer clients, such as Trade Processing, Settlement, Allocation, Controls, Reconciliation, Reporting, etc, supplementing existing CNC back office Third Party Clearing / Agency Clearing services. The ideal candidate will play a key part in ensuring the success of delivery, building the system and its integration into the front to back systems architecture. It is an opportunity to join a greenfield implementation at an early stage and contribute to shaping the team operating model and working practices.

Responsibilities:

•          Provide support in technical design, development, implementation on the platform to meet the requirements presented by the business and the BA team;
•          Prepare detailed specifications that describe input, output and logical operation; and convert them into a series of instructions coded in a computer language;
•          Work with business analysts and architects to define and plan the introduction of new systems or changes to existing systems, identifying costs and requirements and ensuring plans are in place to exploit them;
•          Develop the functionality required by Operations, and also the Integration requirements for the front to back process flows from Front Office traders through to Finance accountants downstream;
•          Work with other IT disciplines to define and plan the introduction of new systems or changes to existing systems, identifying costs and requirements and ensuring plans are in place to exploit them;
•          Contribute to the smooth running of IT systems by ensuring that problems with production systems and IT services are investigated and resolved efficiently with the minimum disruption to the business;

Requirements:

•          At least 5 years proven experience of middle office and back office correspondent clearing model
•          Solid experience in development of reports using Java, Oracle, PL/SQL
•          Solid technology skills, together with business knowledge (demonstrate aptitude and willingness to learn), and an attitude of continuous improvement
•          Proven structured programming techniques, group standards and system methodologies
•          Demonstrated ability in required programming language
•          Excellent written skills, Good logical problem solving skills & Commercial acumen
•          Exposure to all stages of the application development process/lifecycle
