Key Responsibilities:

• Elevate category performance and optimise value creation, via product development, category management and vendor management.
• Support category plans through effective sourcing and product development.
• Influence category plans and strategies via the introduction of value adding opportunities. Creating awareness of underplayed strengths, strategic initiatives and newness (products, innovations, vendors that can enhance the assortment).
• Develop and engineer products to optimise value added.
• Oversee and deliver project plans within agreed product guidelines, budgets and timeframes.
• Work with cross functional teams to keep track of assigned projects’ critical paths and resolve issues and conflicts for projects. Collaborate and communicate effectively always.
• Develop and manage sourcing strategies for assigned categories, select or develop suppliers to meet the strategic requirements.
• Negotiate commercial terms with vendors to improve competitiveness, deliver margin gains, and improve working capital.
• Continually explore and research current trends and related processes, to renew own and company expertise.
• Manage any ad hoc projects as directed by team supervisor.
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Degree holder or above in relevant discipline
• Previous experience of working in a global sourcing/buying office is preferable
• Min. 5 years solid experience in developing and/or sourcing textile / clothing / pet products / toys.
• Knowledge in Textile and clothing are preferred;
• Good command of both spoken and written English, Cantonese & Mandarin
• Willing to travel to PRC
• Good negotiation and presentation skills
• Proactive, positive, energetic, and attention to details
• Responsible and  able to work independently and with teams
