Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre

The Faculty of Science is going to establish the Institute of Bioresource and Agriculture (IBA) which will serve as a knowledge hub that engages in bioresource conservation and sustainable agriculture, promotes and offers professional and public education in sustainable consumption, bioresource and organic agriculture. The Institute is seeking for a suitable candidate to fill the following vacancy. During the preparation stage, the appointee will work under the Hong Kong Organic Resource Centre.

The appointee will participate in and coordinate the research project of developing a ‘Sustainability Database’ for products and processes. The major task is to perform a desktop review on the labeling of green sustainable products in the market and develop a set of guidelines for consumers on purchasing green sustainable products.

 Applicants should possess at least a Master’s degree specialised in Environmental Science, Ecology, Environmental Engineering or related disciplines with at least four years of work experience. Those with postgraduate research experience will be an advantage. They should have excellent writing and communication skills in both English and Chinese; and be able to work independently.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of one year commencing as soon as possible. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
