KONG MOU SUM LIBRARY

Duties: 

• Organize and plan for the growth of library;
• Evaluate and develop the electronic resources collection;
• Implement the College's policies in acquiring books, journals, periodicals and e-material;
• In charge of planning, implementing and managing end-processing and preservation operations for library materials;
• Implement ongoing quality assurance by conducting user surveys and regularly reviewing the Library procedures such as in acquiring, cataloguing, loaning and retrieving books to ensure the continual relevancy of the procedures;
• Render business information and reference services;
• Classify and catalogue library materials;
• Prepare documents and reports regularly for the College's reporting;
• Supervise staff effectively in order to facilitate the delivery of quality services;
• Liaise with Faculty and Institutions, organize academic exchange functions and outreach activities; and
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Recognized professional qualifications in Librarianship (MLS or equivalent);
• Minimum ten years of relevant professional and supervisory experience;
• Knowledge of AACR2r, MARC21, LCSH, LCCS, DDC and RDA is preferable;
• Adept at providing reference services;
• Demonstrated supervisory and project management skills;
• Mature, independent, responsible, and able to work as a team member and a team leader; and
• Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
