Job Description

Duties:  The appointee will play a supporting role on clinical teaching and supervision as well as coordination work in the College of Life Sciences and Technology. The scope of duties has included evening teaching, clinical supervision and assessment during students’ clinical attachment, co-ordination and liaison with students, teachers and professional bodies, and attending programme team meetings.  The appointee will also take part in daytime teaching duties and placement coordinations for our HD programmes at HKU SPACE Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho Community College.

 

Requirements:  Candidates should have a Master degree in a related discipline and be registered with the Hong Kong Nursing Council as Registered Nurse, and able to practise in Hong Kong.  A PhD with teaching qualification will be an advantage.  Candidates should also have clinical supervision and clinical teaching experience.  Strong leadership and supervisory skills, ability to manage resources effectively, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) are required. The appointee must be quality-driven and a good team member.  Preference will be given to those with strong academic/professional background and relevant professional qualifications and membership. 

 

Terms of appointment:  The working hours of this 80% fractional post is normally not less than 31 hours/week.  Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review.  A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract.  Medical and dental benefits, annual leave and the use of sports and library facilities will be provided where applicable.  The School provides excellent staff development opportunities.
