Job Description

 

General Summary:

The Sr. Business Analyst, Global Sourcing manages data and conducts in-depth data analysis using a cross functional knowledge of: global sourcing, merchandising, supply chain, and operations to identify areas of financial opportunity. They provide data and insight that ensures the successful execution of joint global sourcing and merchandising initiatives.   Supports DGGS Merchandising and Operations teams in management and execution of sourcing, purchasing, and operational activity to help maximize sales and gross margin opportunities specific to successful Global Sourcing efforts.

 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Develop metrics, collect and analyze data/KPIs to summarize sourcing opportunities, results and accomplishments over time for continuous improvement
  • Develops tools and reports for analysis, evaluation and project management of Global Sourcing efforts, including but not limited to, Buy trips and ongoing Sourcing efforts
  • Manages critical elements of the Buy Trip and Pre-Buy Trip planning and analysis process, in conjunction with Sourcing, Merchandising, and Operations teams
  • Executes special projects and analysis requiring integration between Sourcing, Merchandising, and US based Merchandising/Sourcing teams
  • Utilize available tools (Excel, Access, 1010Data, WebFocus) to identify and quantify Sourcing performance and savings opportunities
  • Perform regular data and exception management analysis to surface opportunities and audit gaps in our sourcing financial performance
  • Provide financial reporting with appropriate level of detail and insight for multiple leadership teams, to help identify go forward business opportunities and strategies
  • Develop and maintain the processes and infrastructure necessary to support a best-in-class sourcing approach including:

-- Track key commodity indices and supply markets to develop sourcing strategies and benchmark current costs

-- Provide internal training documentation and tools as necessary

 

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 

  • Microsoft Office Certified, Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, with advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP) and Six Sigma Certified will be preferred.
  • Understanding of most global sourcing, merchandising, and supply chain concepts
  • Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data to develop reports for sourcing and merchandising
  • Ability to quickly identify potential opportunities or emerging problems based upon insight gleaned from data
  • Ability to prioritize based on impact, time to implement, and/or direction from leadership
  • Ability to coordinate and partner with all levels of management
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and consultant-type skills in managing stakeholders, cultural dynamics and effectively interfacing with multiple levels within the organization
  • Must have ability to: work in fast-paced environment, be highly adaptable to change, deal with ambiguity; stay organized, and to deliver quality deliverables
  • Ability to think “outside the box” and be an entrepreneurial self-starter
  • Ability to multi task, gather data from multiple sources, prioritize, and manage/manipulate data
  • Must be a dedicated team player, capable of working independently, and self-motivated
  • Demonstrated ability to produce results and meet or exceed financial goals & objectives

 Work Experience &/or Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • 2 - 4 years in relevant professional experience in financial analysis and reporting required
  • 2 - 4 years relevant professional experience in global sourcing, retail merchandising, financial planning and analysis, operations, and project management preferred
  • Demonstrated project management skills (specifically in managing multiple projects)
  • Strong / Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills; prior experience with data analysis and reporting
