Job Description

Purpose of the job

To provide support to APAC Consumer Business Team with specific areas of responsibility:

  • Plan, manage and deliver strategic and tactical marketing campaigns in APAC regions (Greater China, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, India, South East Asia)
  • Help develop retail spaces for Herman Miller and its retail dealers in the regions.
  • Organise, plan and implement the design of corporate marketing materials and assets to support regional sales teams and the retail dealers, working with internal resources and external agencies.
  • Manage, guide and influence dealers’ independent marketing initiatives ensuring they are complimentary and work inline with Herman Miller’s marketing efforts and brand.
  • Reponsible for customer experience in the retail touchpoints including brick & mortar space and online stores, ensuring we maximise the use of those spaces as sales and marketing tools.
  • Manage exhibitions, tradeshows, conferences and events.
  • Manage marketing of HM online stores and other online media – intranets/extranets and public sites.
  • Manage internal and external communications (News, Press Releases, Product Bulletins and Corporate Communications.

 

Specific responsibilities

  • Work closely with and lead regional retail dealers in implementing the company’s marketing initiaitves including development of new retail spaces.
  • Work closely with regional commercial leads in developing tactical regional marketing campaigns, that deliver the HM brand at a local level.
  • Maximise customers’ experience through the strategy
  • Work closely with Consumer Business Development team and the regional Sales teams so that each of team can have a sense of ownership with the marketing actions.
  • Organise, plan, implement and monitor, tactical marketing activities (special projects, showroom launches, events, exhibitions etc) paying attention ROI of the activities
  • Plan and provide support for local events and trade show activities where applicable
  • Implement marketing campaigns and manage costs/budgets effectively.
  • Work closely and develop relationships with HM retail dealers – looking to influence, guide and consult on their marketing efforts to benefit HM’s business.
  • Maintain and manage existing Herman Miller marketing assets across all ranges – ensuring relevance and effectiveness as sales tools.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external consultants that are beneficial to Herman Miler, managing external agencies on projects when required.
  • Develop and maintain links with Herman Miller colleagues in the U.S for purposes of information sharing and leveraging of resources, and to ensure the global consistency of Herman Miller’s brand across initiatives and campaigns.
  • Undertake market research and information gathering as needed.
  • Write reports and advise Senior Management and Directors as required.
  • Maintain and expand market knowledge and marketing knowledge.
  • Provide support to the wider business when required.

 

Candidate requirements

  • Mininum 5 year’s marketing experience and space design experience, design experience in other areas such as graphics is preferred
  • Experience of B2C marketing and ideally channel marketing will be an advantage
  • Understanding of full marketing mix, with proven practical experience especially in the areas of social media marketing
  • Commercial acumen, understanding of sales environment, processes and channels
  • Able to demonstrate rigor in planning
  • Can prepare written information in a manner appropriate to purpose, situation and audience
  • Presentations to small or large groups, internal / external (incl. dealers and agencies)
  • Understands the business process, the function of each part of the organisation, the roles of individuals and the interaction between groups and individuals
  • With strong communication skill (in both written & verbal), interpersonal skills and commitments
  • Good project management skills and attentive to details, as well as the bigger picture
  • Able to multitasking, driven, enthusiastic, self-motivated, considerate, thorough and accurate
  • Proficiency in CAD and Microsoft Office suite of tools
  • Fluency in English
