Job Description

Major responsibilities

The Chief Information Officer is to provide vision and leadership for the development, implementation, operations and budget control of IT related activities in accordance to the business strategic direction of the company, and is to ensure the IT security and standards, and efficient of IT operations throughout the company including various offices in the globe.

 

Essential functions

  • Manage the provision of secure and stable IT services to support company’s desired business outcomes through effective manages of all IT related hardware, software and programming
  • Manage all major technology projects, e.g. ERP system upgrade, to attain projects’ expected functionality, operations efficiency, and to add business values
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for business-led solutions that meet internal and external customers’ needs, to deliver values for all stakeholders and to create competitive advantages for the company
  • Recommend, implement and monitor company’s goal to move forward on Industry 4.0 and Manufacture Execution System (MES) that include, but not limit to, real-time job floor status capture system, machine performance and status system, Advance Planning System (APS), equipment maintenance and asset management system (IBM’s Maximo), Material Requirement System (MRPII), internal and external logistic system, EDI, various information visualization tools, production line automation, use of IoT, cloud computing, big data, predictive analytics, and to seamlessly integrate company’s ERP system with Industry 4.0, and MES to achieve smart manufacturing and realize factory digitalization
  • Identify areas for improvement, provide business/operations intelligent and business insight reports for timely decision making, and to optimize company-wide operations
  • Maintain awareness of changing IT trends and regulations which may impact the company’s operations and take appropriate actions to rectify and to cite opportunities in advancing company’s competitiveness
  • Monitor the performance of subordinates, and direct, coach and provide training for IT staff in order to maintain a skillful and efficient IT team

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, preferable also have business related study or MBA
  • 15+ years working experience, with 10+ years experience managing and directing broad-based IT operations, with career background from programming, application development, system analysis, data processing, and support services origins through various IT management roles and ERP implementation. 5+ years experience in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Good knowledge of modern principles and practices of application development, operations digitalization, IoT, real time on-line interactive information processing environment, and technology development and administration
  • Good knowledge of data base management systems, programming languages, methods of systems analysis, and system design and implementation
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing operations, supply chain, production capacity planning, organizational and management practices pertaining to programs evaluation, policies and standards setting, and end-to-end operations
  • Knowledge and ability to undertake business process re-engineering, organizational change management, and highly integrated Enterprise Resource Planning system (ERP) implementation particularly on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) approach
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication, negotiation and people skills
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese (both verbal and writing)
  • Effective conversational communication in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
  • This job entails extensive travel to China and occasional overseas travel
