We are looking for a Packaging Manager to join our Packaging Team. This candidate will provide technical support on all packaging matters and ensure they meet Company standard.

Responsibilities:

• Define and lead the strategic sourcing plan for Packaging across the hardgoods categories
• Provide technical support to the Target Australia and Hong Kong Merchandising Teams to deliver accurate packaging on time
• Evaluate packaging as specified by the company to ensure compliance to Target standards
• Continuous improvement of the existing operations such as strategic planning in vendors’ selection to management, price negotiation and quality assurance
• Provide training & support for suppliers to ensure style guide compliance
• Managing on-going vendor relationships
• Create in-house packaging artwork & templates when required
• Source suitable packaging manufacturers in Asia
• Research trends and new improved packaging options 
• Ensure team way of working and values are supportive of hardgoods categories
• Coach and develop the team to establish succession plans and talent pipelines, create a high performing team with clear measures and support mechanisms

Requirements:

• Degree holder in packaging /graphic Design or relevant disciplines
• At least 10 years’ experience in artwork development for retailers or brands, with knowledge of packaging methodology relative to different products
• Acute awareness of commercial packaging requirements
• Must be clear on positioning of wording according to style guides and how photography should be styled for packaging
• In-depth knowledge of the packaging industry from structural designs and quality standards
• Strong leadership and management skills with capability of working with internal and external stakeholders effectively
• Ability to initiate and communicate technical solutions for packaging issues
• Strong negotiation and project management skills
• Proficiency in MS operations – Word/Excel & I-Mac Computer, Illustrator, Photoshop
