ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate/comment wash qualities at different stage from product development to bulk production;
• Approve first bath based on approved shade band/pre-production sample, and follow up with factories;
• Work with the laundries to ensure they can meet Cato requirements on aesthetics, qualities and timeline;
• Line review and risk assessment meeting with merchandisers, vendors and laundries to provide recommendation and voice out potential issues to ensure smooth production execution;
• Product technical recommendation and on-site support at laundries if required;
• Maintain and update the Fabric Grid and Fabric Detail Sheet (FDS) on tracing all current fabric information;
• Work with mil to provide standards / processes / risk analyze for new fabric development and share with garment team and garment vendors;
• Research and keep abreast of the new developments of washes/fabrics;

REQUIREMENTS : 

• Tertiary educated in textile Chemistry/Textile Technology or relevant disciplines;
• A minimum of 5 years experience in related position;
• Solid knowledge of wet processing and fabric processing
• Work experience in buying office/agent is preferable
• Good knowledge of denim fabric is must
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Detail-minded, initiative with good communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Good Command of Cantonese, Mandarin and English
