Key Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the Operation Manager, the Quality Manager oversees the QA and QC teams to ensure the quality management fulfills the requirements and expectations of regulatory bodies, customers, and shareholders.
  • Develop and implement a robust Total Quality System and quality management tools appropriate to the plant.
  • Provide core tools, methods and approaches that result in a common commitment to quality, while addressing the unique needs of plant.
  • Ensure compliance with customer and internal product quality and qualification standards.
  • Drive product quality through the establishment and analysis of critical metrics and implementation of proactive controls and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide effective guidance and oversight of quality processes, ensures key product quality decisions are made and issues addressed.
  • Manage internal and external audits at site to ensure compliance. Follow through to ensure appropriate response to audit observations with appropriate corrective actions, aimed at eliminating the source of the observed compliance issue, within established completion dates.
  • Assure that production quality and performance data are comprehensively measured, trended, reported and acted on in a timely manner to assure compliance and support continuous supplier improvement.
  • Ensure constant vigilance (in process and production-related defects, client complaints etc.) and that appropriate changes to production process are made to assure the highest possible quality.
  • Work closely with operations & production to develop strategies to assure the highest possible product quality, a seamless supply to customers and the lowest production cost.
  • Ensure understanding of critical performance/quality attributes from the customers’ perspective and that the formula, raw material, manufacturing and application steps critical to performance are understood and addressed. Establishes control processes to ensure this process in control is consistently achieved and maintained.
  • Establishes systems to monitor customer complaints to ensure that issues are permanently addressed in an effective and prioritized manner through the identification of root causes and establishment of controls.


Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Food Science, Chemistry or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in both oral and written English is a must.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience in food industry business with exposure to all quality management functions (site production, QC, lab etc.). Experience in building a quality management system from the ground up is preferred.
  • Technically knowledge with respect to quality systems (ISO 9000, ISO22000 & HACCP) quality costs, inspection methods, statistical sampling and analysis, regulatory standards, supplier management, manufacturing systems, project management, material flows and general production principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma.
  • Proven success driving major change programs.
  • Practical leader who enjoys involvement in solving problems, and orchestrates operational improvements by knowing and understanding what manager’s face, while providing meaningful guidance concerning appropriate solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and leverage successful relationships at all levels and across a growing business.
  • Motivational leader with effective communication, listening, and human relation skills.
  • Extensive experience in managing and developing people, projects and systems
