ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

cievents has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Event Director to join their team in Hong Kong.The primary purpose of this role is to delight our clients through the delivery of exceptionally high quality, successful events, on time and on budget.


POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • To work with the General Manager and client to ensure that the event brief and budget are fully understood and logistically sound and to provide proactive solutions when necessary
  • To grow assigned client portfolio at cievents in line with company’s aims and objectives via off trade & on trade outlets.  Targets will include 80% retention of existing clients, a 5% increase in gross profit from signing, and a 50% increase in new business generated from existing clients.
  • To develop the brand and business through intelligent account management, as well as continually seeking new business opportunities. This will be achieved through networking, database management, PR, events, partnerships, and face to face sales.
  • Management of the database through regular communications, exploiting all opportunities to up-sell, encouraging referrals and collaborations with other businesses including the existing partnership with APSMA
  • To manage and grow the Flight Centre account through networking with all brands in the Asia Partner Network to increase volume by at least 50% in the next year, ensuring continued loyalty and satisfaction
  • To establish correct systems and processes from the outset to ensure timely, error free event management
  • To maintain accurate files, budgets & critical paths in order to adhere to deadlines and budgets
  • To manage all sales processes to ensure transactions are timely an in line with the companies’ procedures
  • To keep up to date with trends in the market place and in Hong Kong and to react accordingly
  • To effectively negotiate and manage air, hotel, transport and other programme components to ensure accuracy and seamlessness
  • To ensure all delegate data is accurately processed
  • To respond to all client enquiries professionally and within the agreed timeframes and to ensure client satisfaction with the response
  • To grow margin where possible  to ensure company and team targets are met/ exceeded
  • To ensure behaviour is, at all times professional and represents cievents standards and values
  • To maintain effective communication throughout and post event with all stakeholders, including the client and General Manager to ensure their needs are understood, are being met and proactive solutions are being offered
  • Such other duties as management may from time to time reasonably require.
  • Duty travel as required including site visits and on site event management
  • htTo attend company conferences, buzz nigs and other company activities
  • Monitor payments and client accounts

 
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 3 years demonstrated event, conference and incentive management experience
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills – highly methodical, accurate and deadline driven
  • Excellent customer service focus
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective client relationships
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers
  • Computer literate  in standard MS Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of and experience in using cvent or similar event management software (preferred)
  • Team player and adaptable
  • Ability to accept responsibility
  • Ability to resolve issues to the satisfaction of both client and company
  • Demonstrated  effective customer service skills
  • MICE product experience in key regions preferred
