Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive Social Compliance program.
  • Manage priorities in determining resource allocation for Tory Burch’s more than 300 factories throughout Asia.
  • Hire and oversee third-party auditors to ensure factories are in compliance with local laws and regulation.
  • Evaluate compliance risk level for our existing and new factories. (2nd party/3rd party)
  • Develop corrective action plans with our vendors and conduct follow-up, as needed.
  • Update Tory Burch’s Code of Conduct, as needed.
  • Oversee and manage budget.

 Engage the Business on Social Compliance Issues

  • Carryout protocols on approving new vendors and communicate Social compliance issues to relevant business units.
  • Partner with business to develop guidelines on social compliance for new and existing vendors, taking into consideration commercial needs.
  • Work closely with company leaders to ensure social compliance works in conjunction with and as a complement to Tory Burch’s existing sourcing program.
  • Provide training to employees and partners on Social Compliance.

 IP Compliance

  • Work with Legal Department and third-party to carryout audits focused on intellectual property at Tory Burch’s factories. Partner with legal to develop corrective action plans and conduct follow-up.
  • Oversee the destruction process of second-quality Tory Burch merchandise at Tory Burch’s factories throughout Asia.

 Assist Legal on Anti-counterfeiting Matters

  • Serve as on-the-ground liaison for anti-counterfeiting matters with both Hong Kong customs and China police/customs when directed by Senior Counsel at Tory Burch in New York.

 

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Degree holder with minimum 8 years’ compliance experience in large companies with ties to manufacturing in China
  • Expertise with laws and regulations governing Health and Safety, Human Rights, Intellectual Property, etc.
  • Strong writing, editing and communications, as well as negotiation skills
  • Strong data analysis skills and attention to details
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Ability to multi-task across multiple practice areas and work autonomously
  • Frequent travel to China and South East Asian countries, possible travel to US and/or South America
