Job Description

On behalf of our clients,  we are inviting application for the position (Secondment Post), job summary as following:--

 

 Position Objectives:

Manage business case development and deliver quality project on time and within budget. Provide coaching for junior project managers and lead by example.

  

Responsibilities:

Senior Project Manager shall contribute to development of junior project managers and become a role model in the department 

 

Leadership and Coaching:

Lead and motivate junior project managers in project planning and delivery. Provide support and coaching to shape individual behaviors. Provide real-life experience sharing of project management practices. Monitor performance of junior project managers on project basis where applicable Demonstrate leadership qualities in project planning and delivery

 

Managing People:

Drive project team members working towards common goal. Facilitate group discussion, summarize agreeable abstracts and prepare action plan.

Foster harmony relationships with key stakeholders and settle disputes and chaos.

  

Planning and Execution:

Work with project sponsor on business case development and prepare implementation plan.

Ensure scope and deliverables of project are defined, agreed and meet sponsor’s expectations.

Work closely with subject matter experts to understand business requirements and to ensure these are translated into project scope and plan.

Provide inputs to ensure that all associated costs, risks and plans are incorporated.

Communicate business case content with internal stakeholders and obtain sign-off.

Assist sponsor on business case presentation to senior management.

Develop and actively manage the overall project plan to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within budget

 

Communication and Reporting:

Define roles and responsibilities of each project team member and communicate accordingly. Review work plan with stakeholders and obtain buy-in.

Communicate with project team members regularly to understand challenges.

Communicate progress against project plans to head of strategic planning / sponsor / project steering committee / other stakeholders on a regular basis

 

Financial Management:

Prepare project budget, monitor actual spends and provide realistic forecast for projects. Manage project financials as per accounting policy and coordinate payment requests.

 

Risk and Issue Management:

Ensure that project risks are identified and appropriate plans are in place to either avoid or overcome these risks.

Monitor project risks and issues, and escalate to management for resolution where appropriate.

Comply with Project Accounting and Reporting Policy and other company policies

Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements

 

Requirements:-

 Tertiary qualifications

 10+ year of experience in a program and/or project based environment

 Program / project team management experience

 Insurance industry experience is preferred

 Excellent leadership skills: leader, team player and ability to influence

 Excellent communication skills and able to communicate with senior executives effectively

 Excellent ability in developing working relationships with people within and outside the organization

 Strong planning, scheduling and organizing skills

 Good ability in data analysis and demonstrate capability to interpret abstracts and summarize into action

 plan
