Job Description

The Tax Analyst will be part of a highly motivated global tax team.  Reporting to the APAC senior tax director, the Tax Analyst will be an integral part of the APAC tax team based in Hong Kong and will also work closely with the Corporate Tax teams in the US.  The Tax Analyst will be primarily responsible for supporting tax accounting and compliance processes in APAC by working closely with the Corporate Tax team in the US and the local finance teams in the APAC region.  The Tax Analyst will also have the opportunities to be involved in implementing tax planning initiatives in the region.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in review of quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations as well as  FAS109 studies/RTPs for the region.
  • Assist in ensuring tax accounting (quarterly and annual) procedures are in compliance with the company’s SOX control objectives and company policies.
  • Assist in evaluating and accounting for uncertain tax positions for the APAC region in accordance with FASB Interpretation No. 48, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes, including related interest and penalty calculations.
  • Assist in the review and liaison with the local controller organization for the quarterly and annual transfer pricing adjustment process.
  • Assist in tax research and provide tax project management support to APAC Tax team during development and execution of tax planning initiatives.
  • Monitor and support local country tax compliance processes (e.g. statutory filings, income tax assessments, etc.) in the region.
  • Provide support to APAC tax team and local controllers during tax audits and maintain monthly audit status update for the region.
  • Maintain and update local tax rates and tax law changes for all APAC countries.
  • Assist in special projects where needed.

 

 

Requirement:

  • University degree in Accounting; professional accounting qualification preferred.
  • 2 to 4 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm or a multinational company.
  • Tax experience in Asia Pacific Region is a strong plus.
  • Good understanding of US tax accounting, transfer pricing, compliance and reporting processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and solid teamwork ethic.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple time sensitive projects.
