Our Client, a global top tier investment bank, is currently looking an experienced L3 Instrumentation Engineer in Hong Kong to join their High Performance Network Group team. It is responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and support of our global Market Data, Client / Exchange network connectivity, utilizing the latest telecommunications and networking technologies available.

Responsibilities:

• Working with the global/regional teams on understanding/applying network instrumentation strategy; including collection requirements from regional stakeholders and communication of capabilities.
• Execution/implementation of projects related to instrumentation strategies.
• Facilitating training to the regional L3 network staffs on instrumentation technologies and managing relationships with the key strategic instrumentation vendors in the region
• Contribute to the support and troubleshooting for the global network infrastructure composed with routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Using tools and automation to proactively monitor and assure latency compliance and quickly respond to any issues.
• Successfully receive technical escalations and independently provide solutions to resolve high impacting network incidents. Expertly conduct root-cause analysis for major problems and drive the troubleshooting to resolution.
• Week-end work to be expected.

Technical Skills Required:

• 5+ years of experience in a large financial institution with experience supporting large wide area networks, trading systems, branch offices and low latency environments.
• Corvil language (CLI) configuration skill
• Diagnostics/Forensics skill for both network and application issues
• An excellent knowledge of data networking principles and the specific technologies to manage  low latency networks
• Management for Low Latency Specific Tools: CORVIL is a must. nPulse Hammerhead probesare a plus.
• Expert-level ability to interpret the raw and decoded packets and identify network and application issues
• Expert-level ability to interpret the exchange protocol messages in the region. FIX is a must.

Technical Skills Desired:

• Experience with Unix/Linux command line.
• Ethernet technologies: SPT, 812.1Q, VPC, Multilayer Switching
• WAN technologies: SONET/SDH, MPLS, Classic TDM
• Protocols: OSPF, BGP, RIP, TCP/IP
• Multicast routing: PIM, IGMP, MSDP
