Union International Securities delivers global coverage and expert institutional brokerage and advisory services to emerging and established hedge funds, alternative investment managers, professional traders and proprietary trading firms. We are looking for a Prime Brokerage Sales to join our expanding business in Hong Kong.

 Prime Brokerage Sales – AVP / VP

 This position is responsible for development of the business relationship with institutional accounts (such as fund managers, corporations etc.).  Develops knowledge of client needs and requirements and coordinates the firm’s effort to serve client organizations. The job duties associated with this role may be expected to include:

• Act as a primary point of contact and manage queries relating to client onboarding and Customer Due Diligence

• Proactive identification of client needs and potential issues

• Knowledge of Global Custody (including clearing, custody, and asset servicing), Securities Lending and Delta One

• Familiar with financing solutions across multiple asset classes via margin lending, securities lending, repo, futures, and foreign exchange prime brokerage, and cross-margin capabilities customized for various client and portfolio requirements

• Experienced with Customized technology (provide hedge fund managers with portfolio reporting needed to effectively manage money)

• Operational support (act as hedge fund's primary operations contact with all other broker dealers)

• Risk Management Advisory Services

• To provide a range of consulting / advisory services on issues associated with regulatory establishment requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or above in Finance or related disciplines 

• At least 5 years’ relevant working experience gained at reputable institutions and with sales track record

• Qualified to be registered under SFC in relevant regulated activities

• Excellent communication skills, confidence and ability to articulate complex situations

• Understanding of settlement practices, as well as compliance and legal implications

• A good cross product knowledge covering, equities, derivatives (listed and OTC), fixed income, FX and Swaps. Should cover trading, market regulations; short selling rules (stock lending and repo), risks and corporate actions.

• An understanding of leveraged financing, how the margin requirement is calculated, how exposure is hedged and measured

• A good understanding of Hedge Fund Strategies to include; equity long/short, risk arbitrage, convertible arbitrage, event driven, global macro, merger arbitrage and distressed

• Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin is a must)
