Discovery College is a member school of the English Schools Foundation. The College opened in 2008 in new, purpose-built campus in Discovery Bay, Hong Kong in August 2008. The College is now a full Years 1-13 (K-12) school with over 1,350 primary and secondary students offering the International Baccalaureate PYP, MYP and Diploma programmes. Digital Literacies Creative Assistant

Responsibilities

To support the school-wide vision for infusing digital literacy into the school learning environment.

• Work with the Digital Literacy Coordinator to support effective and meaningful digital literacy curriculum design
• Support the continued development, programming and growth of the DC online learning environment – Moodle – especially providing ongoing PD and support for classroom teachers/students
• Assist students and teachers in the pedagogy and infusion of a digital literacy curriculum within their class environments
• Support in class teaching of the highest quality as and when school needs require and directed by the DLC
• Provide support for the creation and documentation of the digital resources in classrooms
• Participate in year level collaborative planning at the request of the DLC

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• At least one year primary classroom experience at an education assistant level.

Abilities
• Sound understanding and experience in the use and importance of digital literacy in teaching and learning, including; in class experience with children and teachers, wide-ranging professional experience, depth of content knowledge, and commitment to infused curriculum

Knowledge
• General understanding of main learning technologies available for class use; including development of websites, PHP (and other web technologies) and software skills, use of web2.0 apps, use of mobile technologies
