Responsibilities: 

Reporting & Budgeting

l Provision of all services necessary to prepare, produce, complete and file required management and financial accounts (including month end, half year and full year end accounting processes)

l Submit annual budgets for each entity to Mulberry and C21

l Generate and publish daily flash sales, weekly and monthly sales reports

l Processing of Monthly Journal Entries and General Ledger Account Reconciliations

Tax and Compliance

l Preparation, completion, submission and lodgement of all documents necessary to complete tax filing for Corporate – including sales tax, payroll tax and corporate taxes;

l Ensure prompt payment of all tax liabilities

l Liaison with audit firm

Payroll

l Perform duties associated with the overall management and administration of the payroll function, and reporting to local tax authorities

l Process payments of net pay and payroll taxes

l Resolve queries from Retail managers on behalf of staff

Treasury, Accounts payable and Receivable

l Provide copies of all invoices, expense claims, bank and corporate credit card statements to Business Partners and PRC accountant to ensure monthly accounts can be prepared

l Managing bank accounts and processing of payments to ensure all payments made on due dates;

l Daily reconciliation of Cash/Credit Card Deposits

l Prepare period end bank reconciliation

l Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment

l Vendor Statement reconciliation and also ensuring Corporate is current on all payables

l Processing all employee expense statements

l Reconciliation of corporate credit cards

l Facilitate export Shipping with appropriate documentation

l Reconcile intercompany accounts with all Corporate and Business Partners legal entities to ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting entries

Inventory management

l Responsible for maintaining proper inventory controls across all stores

l Facilitate the bi-annual stocktakes with third party  (RGIS or similar)

l Ensure stock provisions are made in line with group policy

l Ensure any intercompany/store stock transfers are properly accounted for and documented

l Ensure stock counted and stock recorded on system match and investigate any discrepancies

Fixed assets

l Prepare investment appraisals for potential new stores in line with Corporate appraisal system

l Update fixed asset register each period end for additions/disposals/depreciation

Requirements: 

• Degree holder in Accounting with ACCA/HKSA qualification
• At least 5 years relevant experience with minimum 3 years at managerial level, in retailing industry
• Proficiency in both HK and PRC accounting practice, taxation regulations, cashflow planning, KPI reporting and practices in relation to fashion retailing business
• Based in Hong Kong and occasional periodical travels is required
• Proactive and dynamic and with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills with good business acumen
• Good command of spoken and written English and Putonghua is preferred
• Sound knowledge in MS Office application and computerized accounting system
