Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfills its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight. 

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Associate Director, Business Risk and Control Management. 

In this role, you will

  • Support business risk analysis and implementation of control
  • Deal with difference counterparts in regional and global offices

  • Assurance of project implementation and quality
  • Monitoring and follow up of the progress of issues and actions identified by Internal Audit, Control Testing, Incidents, and other thematic reviews
  • Provide risk analysis and recommendations to Internal Audit, Risk Management, Group Operational Risk, Fund accounting and transfer agent service, investment and operations
  • Timely reporting and documentation of issues and actions
  • Value added analysis and presentation of risk data including of non value added reports
  • Ensure good rating and assessment from customers and stakeholders
  • Appropriate escalation and effective communication of matter that warrants management attention
  • Providing accurate and relevant advice to internal clients 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements

  • Degree level on Business, Accounting, Statistics, or equivalent caliber
  • Good background knowledge of financial markets and Asset Management Business
  • Ability to transfer data into management intelligence by spotting abnormality for control measures formulation
  • Able to deal with both front and back office to solve potential issues

  • Excellent verbal communication, report writing, and presentation skills
  • Excellent team player and motivator with flexible attitude
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skill are advantageous
