Job Description

Located in Quarry Bay, ESF Centre is responsible for the administration of all schools within the English Schools Foundation.

The English Schools Foundation was established by the Hong Kong Government in 1967. ESF currently operates five secondary schools, nine primary schools and a school for students with special educational needs across Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories. Two all-through Private Independent Schools and five kindergartens are operated by ESF’s affiliated company, ESF Educational Services Limited (ESL), which also offers English language classes and sports activities.

Health, Safety & Sustainability Officer (One Year Contract)
Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a difference across a unique organisation.
Responsibilities

The HS&S Officer will provide support and take initiatives in the development, adoption and operation of the corporate Health & Safety system across all ESF operations.

Specific Duties
• Assist the Health, Safety & Sustainability Manager in strategic planning and daily activities to promote the improvement of standards throughout the Organisation.
• Refine and maintain the ESF H&S system.
• Liaise with schools and support teams and manage suppliers and external consultants.
• Conduct systematic safety and health risk assessment and devise preventive and corrective actions where necessary.
• Conduct specific assignments and investigations.
• Provide up-to-date health, safety and sustainability information to the Organisation, and assist in effective dissemination of this information.
• Devise and deliver health, safety and sustainability training to ESF Staff.
• Compile reports and statistics.
• Keep abreast of developments in relevant legislation and practices.
• Liaise with enforcement authorities and other bodies as necessary.
Requirements

Experienced applicants must have:

• Detailed knowledge of relevant Health, Safety and Sustainability legislation, practices and guidelines.
• Capacity to learn and develop additional skills as necessary.
• Ability to respond to sudden events.
• Ability to devise and deliver meaningful and effective training.
• Fluency in oral, written English, Cantonese (desirable).
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
