Job Description

Habitat for Humanity Hong Kong is currently seeking a talented individual for the role of Resource Development Officer. This position is responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of various fundraising activities. To increase the capacity of the HFH Hong Kong fundraising team, the Resource Development Officer will provide support functions including but not limited to prospect research, prospect management, donor communication and stewardship, reporting and record management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify prospective donors or sponsors for projects and campaigns that need funding
  • Providing in-depth, accurate and timely research and data analysis
  • Draft proposals for major individual donors, corporations, and grant-awarding foundations, organizations, and institutions
  • Investigate and explore possible grant sources for government and foundations that are potential funding sources and write requests and applications for funding
  • Interact with other areas of the organization or churches to obtain the information need for writing the proposals as required by prospective donors
  • Research prospects and produce detailed profiling including current and prospective high net-worth individuals and major donors, as well as prospects for Major Gifts and special campaigns
  • Handle special projects, ad hoc and other legitimate duties as required

 

Required Skills:

  • Degree holder
  • Minimum 1-year relevant experience
  • Strong analytical, organizational and research skills
  • Detail-oriented, able to take instruction, take initiative and work with minimal supervision
  • Able to multitask and exhibit consistent follow-through and work under time constraints, changing priorities and varying deadlines
  • Experience in non-profit / NGO /church fundraising strategies and campaigns is not a must but preferred
  • Affiliation with one or more churches preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese & Putonghua)
  • Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; knowledge of CRM is a plus
