Job Description

The role of BUSINESS ANALYST AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER is primarily to explore new travel retail business and distribution channel opportunities for one of our main customer accounts, based on research and detailed analysis of current and potential business operations. This may entail the establishment of new corporate relationships with vendors, suppliers and other relevant third-parties. The aim is to augment this profitable partnership as well as to ensure that a high level of customer service satisfaction is maintained.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement result-oriented marketing and promotional strategies
  • Collaborate with Commercial team to organize and execute marketing promotions to drive penetration and sales
  • Formulate all rounded marketing campaigns and business development projects to accelerate business growth with creative, innovate and productive ideas
  • Conduct budget and performances analysis and review all channel of marketing initiatives to ensure cost effectiveness and results
  • Manage marketing budgets and supports from suppliers and maximize the values of resources with optimal results
  • Drive Sales performance for company products & manage Business development strategies
  • Negotiate prices and contract terms with clients
  • Conduct market research, source for brands and products, and present a business proposal to the customer
  • Liaise with the selected vendors for all the required logistics and inform related departments about the strategy and operational requirements
  • For the selected projects, to develop contents for the product catalogue and other marketing collateral
  • Provide monthly benchmarking (industry and competitor) reports, sales analysis reports and other relevant reports to the customer and to internal departments
  • Attend a weekly meeting with client with an aim to review operational performance and corrective measures to be in place
  • Compile monthly project update and quarterly meeting update on projects managed
  • Analyze sales data and business performances providing insights and action plans to be included in the business development project plans
  • To work on any other projects as may be defined by the customer from time to time.

 

Requirements:

EducationDegree or tertiary education with a major in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Communications, Purchasing, etc.

Business skillsNumerically-inclined, analytical and rational with commercial awareness in business development, distribution, sales and marketing functions. Ability to provide customers and management with collection and analysis of data. Needs to show initiative and the ability to successfully manage new projects with little supervision. Needs to demonstrate the ability to think of new ideas and business models. Needs to demonstrate general awareness of consumer, retail and fashion trends in the market.

ExperienceAt least 3 years of working experience with a broad exposure in Account Management and/or business development or project management experience. Previous experience within the travel retail industry or luxury goods retailing and trading would be an advantage. Experience working in a cross-cultural multinational organization is preferred.

Personal AttributesPossess professional maturity, coupled with high ethical standards, hardworking, independent, responsible and accountable, organized, efficient, ability to work under pressure etc.

IT SkillsGood PC literacy required i.e. hands-on experience of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.

Language AbilitiesExcellent business English with experience writing and presenting business cases or other analysis.

Travel Requirementsmay be required occasionally depending on the requirements of the project.
