Responsibilities

• Work closely with core team in Sydney to implement and design the backend of a super high traffic web application
• Co-operate with PM, lead developer and QA to develop features for business needs
• Co-ordinate with frontend developers to link up the backend and frontend
• Optimise the backend system to make sure the system is scalable with high availability (~99.95% SLA)
• Write quality code with unit testing
• Perform A/B testing if needed to optimise the best user experience
• Be innovative and give ideas to growth hack the business metrics

General Requirements

• Degree / Higher Diploma in Computer Science / Multimedia or related disciplines
• Must come from a development background with strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Previous experience working for a high traffic, high profile website preferred
• Strong Agile mindset and a positive attitude
• Great communicator
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented
• Working Proficiency in English as there will be meetings with other teams in overseas
• Travel maybe required

Technical Skills

• Solid foundation in Java technology, experienced in using Spring and Hibernate
• Experience in large scaled web system architecture design, with e-Commerce background is preferable
• Experience in using rdbms such as MySQL and Oracle
• Understanding well RESTful API and have ability to design it
• Exposed to continuous integration tools, such as Jenkins / Bamboo, and able to write unit test and integration test
• Version control with git
• Experience with and/or exposure to NodeJS
• Experience with and/or exposure to search enigne, such as Elastic Search or Solr would be a plus
• Experience with and/or exposure to queue system such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, ActiveMQ would be another plus
• Knowledge in frontend technology, such as React, AngularJS, HTML5, CSS would be a big plus
