Regional Marketing Manager
The Regional Marketing Manager (RMM) role is strategic and reports to the Global Director of Marketing for Oracle Financing. The RMM is responsible for overall marketing and communications to support growth of the business in the Japan/Asia (JAPAC) Region.
Background
Oracle Financing administers a full range of customer options to support the acquisition of Oracle Hardware, Software and Services. Oracle Financing revenues exceed $2 billion annually. The organization supports all Oracle Products and Services and in over 60 countries, worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
The duties of the Japan/Asia Pacific (JAPAC) Regional Marketing Manager include:
- Build constructive relationships with Oracle Marketing across the Region, especially in the sub-regions critical to the business – ASEAN; Australia/New Zealand; Hong Kong/Taiwan/Greater China; India; Japan and Korea.
o Develop opportunities to integrate OFD messaging in Oracle’s local campaigns and sales plays
o Establish web presence for OFD by integrating content on Oracle’s local websites and creating linkages to our own content on OFD pages
o Collaborate with local marketing on events, campaigns and communications
- Support OFD Programs (Solution Development):
o Work closely with OFD’s Global Programs team to help localize, deploy and manage OFD Solutions in-market – serve as Regional advocate, providing region-specific requirements
o Establish relationships with Oracle’s Regional Product Marketing and Business Development teams (especially Cloud, Hardware and Engineered Systems)
o Collaborate with Regional OFD Sales for local execution of Programs in all target markets
o Develop and manage regional marketing/communications campaigns to support awareness and demand generation for OFD Solutions
- Regional Marketing Partner for OFD
o Develop and manage execution of Regional marketing plan to support awareness, demand generation and overall OFD sales enablement
o Effective management and optimization of regional marketing budget is critical
o Critical to role is development of Region-specific content – i.e. tailoring OFD messaging and content for the Region
o Optimize mix of Regional marketing & communications activities – events, digital/web, collateral/sales tools, campaigns/sales plays – to ensure results and ROI
o Emphasis on integration with and leverage of Oracle’s local marketing activities
o Collaborate with OFD Global Marketing
o Support and maintain OFD’s global brand, messaging and positioning
Qualifications
- Regional Marketing Manager will be based in-Region – operating from OFD office in Singapore
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or other relevant area of study – MBA preferred
- Minimum 10 years of experience in progressively responsible marketing or sales enablement roles in the high tech industry
- Confident team player who can serve as the marketing partner to the OFD Regional VP of Sales, providing recommendations and proactively supporting the business
- Must have very strong understanding of Japan/Asia Pacific marketplace – especially markets key to OFD’s business (ASEAN; Australia/New Zealand; Hong Kong/Taiwan/Greater China; India; Japan and Korea)
o High tech industry trends, buying behaviors, etc.
o Oracle’s positioning and competitive landscape
o Financing, leasing and financial services industries
- Proven results developing and managing marketing & communications programs that target internal and external audiences
o External – C-level customers (CFO, COO, CIO, etc.)
o Internal – account executives, product management, leadership
- Strong written and oral communications skills is critical – ability to translate from English to local language(s) highly desired
- Must be highly organized with strong project management skills
- Experience managing a team (directly and/or indirectly) and experience managing marketing/PR agencies
- Strong business acumen
- Required to manage local marketing budget – tracking marketing expenses and managing financial forecast/accruals
- Experience working with high performance sales teams in the high tech industry
- Proven success working within and across teams in highly matrix and complex organizations
- Self-starter with ability to work with minimal direction
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Region as needed (ASEAN; Australia/New Zealand; Hong Kong/Taiwan/Greater China; India; Japan and Korea) and to Oracle headquarters offices (San Francisco) annually
- Ability to accommodate variety of time zones – including US – to ensure alignment with Global teams
