Our client is a fast growing, sizable listed multi-billion dollar business with an immediately recognised brand name and a strong client portfolio.  Their Regional HQ in Hong Kong is now recruiting for a strategic minded Senior Tax Specialist with a strong entrepreneurial mindset and Transfer Pricing knowledge, to oversee the region’s tax matters and to support continuous business growth.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Regional Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role as a Senior Tax Expert for the APAC region, where you will provide efficient strategic advice on tax matters for the business, with key objective to optimise effective tax rate for the group.  You will manage tax compliance governance and tax planning; while also review and recommend efficient tax scheme and strategy for the region, with key focus on China and Australia markets. You will ensure operational effectiveness of tax functions in the region and drive & manage challenging strategic tax-related projects.    You will also review and monitor internal tax control process, working closely with the different business units and country controllers on transfer pricing and effective tax strategies, as well as cash repatriation plans.  In addition, you will work with legal team and external tax consultants on tax related issues.  You will also support the Regional Finance Director on other adhoc projects. Some travelling in the region is required.

Requirement

You will be a degree graduate and a Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA) and/or ideally a Certified Tax professional with a minimum of 10 years experience in tax, including experience from Big 4 coupled with sizable MNCs ideally from a high growth/ services industry preferred.  You will have a proven track record managing the tax operation with MNCs in a regional context.  With hands-on experience in regional/ international tax, you will have a broad understanding of the tax landscape in APAC region in particular China and Australia. You will be a proven tax expert with extensive experience in leading and implementing complex regional or global tax projects.  The ideal candidate should possess an entrepreneurial mindset, be confident and self-motivated with excellent commercial acumen, as well as outstanding analytical & problem solving skills, and first class language ability.  Near native/ fluent English and Chinese is a must for this position with other Asian Language skills ideal.  This is a people-oriented team and excellent career path for the right candidate.
