We’re seeking an energetic Costing Engineer to join our Hardlines Sourcing Team! This is a great opportunity for those who are looking for a change and a chance to enhance their analytical skill in costing.

Responsibilities

• Manage routine costing and be the key interface between the product development merchandisers & suppliers
• Conduct detail cost analysis such as material cost, labour cost, labeling, packaging and any other cost factors for all Hardlines categories (Homewares, Toys & General Merchandise)
• Provide sourcing manager with insights on supplier and or country specific competitiveness
• Work with merchandising team to ensure all relevant information especially annual volumes is provided to be able to conduct an accurate cost analysis
• Manage all cost quote activities and maintain costing library
• Analyze and propose cost saving potentials
• Initiate costing process improvements
• Develop user friendly tools/ templates to facilitate effective costing
• Record and present at any time a summary of all open costs, suggested cost price, actual cost price and the estimated yearly savings

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ hardlines costing experience with basic sourcing knowledge across countries outside of China
• Good knowledge in hard home products, seasonal products and toys
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects & multi task
• Ability to recognize and solve problems
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines
• Proficient in software application including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Advanced level in Microsoft Excel – high skill level to create templates
• Excellent command in both written and spoken English & Chinese
