AmCham HK is seeking a seasoned events management and marketing professional for the position of Director, Events & Marketing. Managing a team of four, you will be leading the Events Department in conceiving, organization and running Chamber events and meetings (roughly 400 per year), ranging from the signature annual AmCham Ball, major conferences and luncheons, to monthly committee meetings and other special events.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Events Department team to organize, manage, and execute AmCham events including the signature annual AmCham Ball, major conferences, speaker breakfasts and luncheons, committee meetings, and other ad hoc special events
• Primarily responsible for the sponsorship sales of all signature events, including coordination with other Department Directors as needed
• Develop and execute, in coordination with office colleagues and Committee leadership, general and special event planning and pre & post-event follow up
• Produce and/or coordinate relevant pre & post event marketing collateral
• Identify, negotiate, and liaise with venues and various suppliers for the AmCham Ball and other signature events
• Market and promote all Chamber events to maximize events attendance and visibility.
• Prepare annual department budget and monitor all events P&L
• Collaborate with other department heads to maximize the benefits to AmCham members and promote Chamber values

Requirements of the role

• Fluency in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin required
• At least 8 years of experience in events management and/or marketing
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the qualities of a excellent team player and leader
• Diplomatic, resourceful, creative, and energetic
• Able to perform with tact and grace under pressure
• University graduate preferably in Marketing, Public Relations, or Corporate Communications
• Good knowledge of Hong Kong and American business and culture
