Job Description

Responsibilities: 

1)      Business Strategy

  • Identify and prioritize business opportunities for assigned brands or categories (if local brand in global category, ensure alignment with global category; for global brands, ensure that local business opportunities are aligned with global brand strategy)
  • Assess marketing mix elements and strategic objectives through annual brand plans, long range plan (5 year) and lifecycle management plans to drive market share and increase sales revenue (in alignment with global guidelines for global brands and local brands in global categories)
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual achievement of the following strategic objectives:
    • Sales volumes and net sales values
    • Growth in value and volume over previous year
    • Market share evolution in terms of value and volume
    • Evolution of brand equity and brand health indicators
  • Evaluate effectiveness of promotional campaigns and materials in achieving expected objectives
  • Partner with Business development and Business Excellence to analyze market for identifying opportunities in brand portfolio
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for introducing brand/ line extensions to extend product lifecycle
  • Manage delivery of accurate and timely demand forecasts to the Supply Chain department so that stock availability in the market is guaranteed
  • Lead regular updates on marketing strategy and key tactics for the brands provided to the sales and trade marketing teams during cycle meetings and sales conferences
  • Ensure that the sales, supply chain, procurement and production teams are aligned
  • Follow-up on execution of the approved brand plans and design proposals to anticipate risks and/ or augment business opportunities
  • Supervise design, approval (of material, content and quantity) and timely distribution of all promotional materials, to be used by sales and trade marketing teams
  • Proactively contribute to the development and implementation of trade marketing strategies for the brands within the assigned category, handled by the Trade Marketing Manager and in coordination with Sales.     
  • Design and deliver learning modules for the field force on marketing campaigns and promotional plans
  • Lead projects within the Zone in coordination with country leaders 

2)      Financials

  •  Facilitate and guide the team to develop and ensure approval of budgets for products within the assigned category.
  • Monitor marketing/ advertising budget and ensure expenditure is as per planned activities/ initiatives and within the budget

 3)     People Management

  • Strive to enhance professional expertise and competency of brand managers in the specific Category through regular coaching, development based on identified development needs
  • Strengthen succession planning for all key positions with the Category, through the Talent process.
  • Maintain high level of motivation of the brand team
  • Reinforce effective partnerships with the end consumer
  • Facilitate cross-category fertilization of resources   

Requirements:

  • University degree: Undergraduate or Masters
  • 7-10 years brand management experience, preferably with sales experience..
  • Exposure to FMCG/OTC Healthcare industry
  • Financial acumen & Functional skills 
  • Innovative mindset & Influencing skills
  • Communications and Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work and collaborate efficiently in matrix environment
  • LEAD competencies
  • Well-versed in spoken and written English and Chinese
