The Business Analyst is a member of the product management organization. The Business Analyst is focused on the identification, analysis and documentation of software requirements and is responsible for driving the design and development of product enhancements. Business analysts must possess excellent analytical and data gathering skills and must enjoy solving problems with a strong attention to detail. The Business Analyst will interface with customers, product stakeholders, subject matter experts, UX resources and the development and Quality Assurance organizations. 
  • Experience in Agile methodologies

  • Experience in mobile, and online product development.

  • Experience in managing product backlogs, documenting detailed functional requirements for mobile, native app and content solutions.

  • Liaise closely with LexisNexis’ Global Technology Organisation (GTO) to ensure local and regional product, project, and strategic goals are met

  • Manage UAT process across all regions

  • Provide technology and product perspective to support local and regional business functions in relation to technology products and solutions

  • Work with Product Manager Red APAC, Commercial Product Owners and representatives to understand customer and market requirements

  • Liaise with Local development content solution lines to ensure new business objectives are met

 

 

1.           Requirements documentation - Understand & translate customer needs and experience into product features and functions to address customer pain points. Product design, development and user experience of new and existing Online / Mobile / Product from concept to development completion

 

  • Work with APAC Product Manager and Asia Online Program Manager to ensure prioritized requirements are elaborated and scheduled for release (assist with release management)

  • Support backlog for product enhancements and ensure elaboration of requirements keeps pace with development needs

  • Provide detailed requirements elaboration for the development team – user stories and acceptance criteria, requirements elaboration

  • Liaise with business systems teams to ensure requirements take into account all aspects of the product’s ecosystem including fulfilment and billing  

  • Follow AGILE best practices participating in sprint planning / retrospectives / scrums / stand up meetings etc

  • Assist with sizing requirements

  • Work with APAC Product Manager to obtain support and approval from business stakeholders for development initiatives

  • Work with the APAC Product Manager and other stakeholders to understand market needs and user stories

  • Work closely with UXE expert to create an excellent user experience for our customers and ensure UXE principles are captured within our requirements

 

 

2.           User acceptance testing and validation – Coordinate and validate product development through internal UAT, customer validation and support content testing teams for each release.

 

  • Liaise with regional content teams to align product and content enhancements and manage content testing process

  • Support UAT planning and execution via testing, preview releases and business sign off on releases

  • Ensure customer needs analysis and customer validation of development concepts are core to development cycle

  • Maintain regular contact with LexisNexis customers through personal visits, interviews, etc to understand needs and validate requirements (e.g. through wireframes, rapid iteration etc)

 

 

3.           Technical product management– Stakeholder management across all regions and teams. Document processes, and handover documentation to business to help transition from technology to business teams and help triage content/product /backend system issues to support maintenance teams.

 

  • Establish and maintain effective communications between Asia Pacific businesses and the appropriate solution lines within GTO, global user experience organizations, vendors and Product and Platform team.

  • Collaborate effectively across regional business units and with functional teams to ensure all requirements are properly elaborated, answer technical questions from business and technology stakeholders, update business and product owners on any platform / application changes

  • Provide product technology expertise to support the development of business cases as needed

  • Complete post-development handover to business – create process maps, documentation etc.

  • Support Product Manager in analyzing usage reports, NPS and other customer feedback to ensure customer satisfaction and continuous improvement of application

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical or business field preferred

  • Minimum 3+ years Business Analyst experience, relevant industry preferred

  • Ability to identify technology platform specifications / write functionality specifications Experience in documenting requirements (Use cases/User stories)

  • Previous experience of working in an agile environment and using recognized development methodology e.g., Agile, SCRUM, KANBAN.

  • Proficient in documenting As-Is and To-Be processes

  • Knowledge of Customer Centric design processes and user experience methodologies

  • Knowledge and experience of wireframe and prototyping tools

  • Knowledge of local and global legal products and content ideal

  • Competent use of MS Office including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint, SharePoint

  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Strong communication skills to all levels

  • Implementation of product analytics ideal
