Conceptualize and execute communication strategy, providing guidelines on key issues to position and drive positive reputation of the company. 

Ensure that APRIL has a well-organized and focused communication team that maintains and continually develops a contact list of individuals, groups, organizations and fora, whose support is essential to/can assist in achieving the communication objectives.

  • Establish, maintain, and improve relationship and communications with external stakeholders such as, media (editors/reporters), customers, banking communities,  industry associations, NGOs in order to maintain and improve positive group corporate image.
  • Develop, strengthen and maintain network with the communication counterparts in key partner organizations.

Conduct competitive benchmarking, desk research and analysis to ensure APRIL's communications adopt best practices

Maintain and continually develop a contact list of journalists and media outlets covering all media - print, TV, radio, web etc. - and ensure a successful process of communicating and maintaining regular contact and close collaboration with the media to communicate APRIL's story.

Manage the utilization of corporate web, social media and other digital platforms to enhance positive image of the organization.

Editorial services: writing and editing of content for various channels, including press releases, blog posts, communications to stakeholders. talking points and briefing notes for senior management.

Ensure the timely submission of all external reporting requirements related to external engagement platforms e.g. UN Global Compact Reporting on Progress

Serve as the focal point for coordination requirements with RGE communications team

 

Internal Communications

Develop and deliver the APRIL internal communication strategy, ensuring its fit with the overarching communication strategy. 

Provide internal and change communications expertise, support and advice to the leadership team. 

Facilitate the sharing of knowledge and the dialogue between teams and across offices and locations.

Oversee the strategic development and continuous improvement of the internal communications channels, products and messages, including writing and editing of engaging content to staff.

Build the internal communication skills of managers across the organisation.

 

Management

Effectively manage and optimally use the communication team and financial resources (budget planning, management and monitoring).

Establish communication baselines against which the objectives of the communication strategy are regularly evaluated; undertake analysis to continuously improve the effectiveness of communication strategy, approach and activities; prepare and share results and reports on a timely basis.

Capacity building and support: Provide expert advice and identify and address opportunities for development among the communication team.

 

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Mass Communications or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of work experience in a managerial or senior position in international communications. Strong network with international media. 
  • Candidates with knowledge of or experience in sustainability and development matters, and issues management are preferred
  • High level of competencies in writing and editing in English, production of various communication materials, media relations, and stakeholder outreach
  • Can lead and coordinate across cultures and locations
  • Highly professional, results-driven and good team player
