Scope and Purpose of Job

The Web Developer and Designer will be responsible for web programming and web design in the Asia Pacific region.  He/she will work closely with the global web team, to implement, maintain and unify an Asia Pacific regional high availability web strategy to create a consistent globally branded web prescence.

Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Support the regional marketing managers by coding and designing new website pages or updating existing pages
• Help to create and customize code and plugins (Javascript, Wordpress/PHP, MySQL)
• Help the International web team maintain and support all the technical matters for the company’s Chinese websites & servers.
• Create Landing Pages, Emails and Forms to support product promotions and new product launches
• Analyzing and solving China specific limitations on website and services
• Help Analyze and solve website problems (Javascript, jQuery, PHP) and server problems (Apache, PHP, MySQL).

Additional Responsibilities

• Investigating Cloud storage and processing solutions.
• Strategic planning and implementation of a E-Commerce solutions in China.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Diploma / High Diploma in a Computer Science related field.
• Strong skills in Front-end Web Development (HTML, web page design, creation and management, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Javascript / jQuery, Wordpress CMS)
• Experience in Back-end Web Programming (PHP, MySQL)
• Solid programming experience in languages like PHP, JavaScript and HTML
• Knowledge in Linux administration in combination with Apache webservers is a plus
• Understanding of unix command shell
• Experience in monitoring and tracking of production systems
• The ability of analytic and strategic thinking when investigating problems or optimizing workflows
• Fluency in English and Mandarin required
• A keen interest in new technologies in this field
• Must be open to learning, passionate about taking ownership and executing, able to work independently, but yet a strong team player working together with our international team.
