Wilton Bradley Ltd specialise in the design, development, sourcing and supply of quality consumer leisure goods, supplying our own branded goods to specialist retailers and sourcing a broad range of products for many of the world’s leading retailers and third party brand owners. Since establishing in the UK over 20 years ago we have become product specialists in toys, outdoor play, watersports, skateboards and clothing. Wilton Bradley HK Ltd was established 4 years ago to support our UK team in the ongoing sourcing and development of new products, as well as to act as a sales office and showroom for our multitude of customers around the world. The continual expansion of the Wilton Bradley group means the HK office has become and will continue to be an integral part of the global business.

Job Role:

We’re looking for an experienced merchandiser with a strong background in range planning, sourcing and customer communication. You will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of sourcing projects and sales strategies that are aligned with company goals. Tasked with managing a vendor base for the purpose of improving quality and cost of goods through negotiation and relationship building. You will provide administrative support to the sales and merchandising manager, processing orders and progressing them through to delivery. You will also be a first contact point for the UK buying team on all sourcing matters.

Key responsibilities:

• Support Sales and Merchandising Manager to ensure timely delivery of sales orders, liaising with customers, suppliers and freight forwarders and using critical paths to manage timelines.

• Assist with implementing and monitoring sourcing strategies that address cost, quality, and service expectations

• Liaise with internal buying and product departments to ensure the showroom is up to date with all product relevant to customer meetings.

• Communicate effectively with all internal departments on any relevant customer or operational issues.

• Analyse vendor performance and report back to business.

• Regular travel to china mainland for factory visits, infrequent overseas travel may be required.

• Any other tasks deemed by the company to be necessary for the successful completion of the role.

  Person Specification:

  Skills/experience

  Essential

• Experience in similar role

• Excellent written and spoken English

• Spoken Chinese Mandarin

• Excellent organisation and communication skills

• Computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office

• Excellent time management

• Flexible approach with the ability to manage rapidly fluctuating workloads

• Good commercial understanding

• Flexible approach to working hours during seasonal peaks + during business travel

• Strong negotiation skills.

  Advantageous

• Experience of working in the Toy industry

• Understanding of written Chinese Mandarin

• Existing portfolio of relevant customer and supplier contacts

• Strong eye for product detail

• Experience in Quality Control
