Job Description
Duties
The candidate will be responsible for carrying out kitchen tasks given by senior chefs under Hotel standards. He / she will provide daily support for the senior chefs, contribute and work as a team in the general operation of the kitchen, offering to assist fellow colleagues when required.
Requirements
- Experience working as a sushi cook
- Minimum 2 year relevant experience, preferably in hotel industry
- Possess culinary knife skills which include safely using knives; sharpening and honing the edges of knives; and using them to chop, dice, julienne, slice and mince
- Demonstrated ability following food safety guidelines including; properly receiving products and maintaining food safety logs
- Demonstrated ability to follow directions including; recipes, detailed procedures, and task lists when necessary
- Utilizing resources to educate self and others about product uses and characteristics, being sure to share acquired product knowledge
- Form 5 or above with kitchen training is preferred
- Good command of spoken English and Cantonese; proficiency in Japanese would have an advantage
