Union International Securities delivers global coverage of prime brokerage and advisory services to emerging and established hedge funds, alternative investment managers, professional traders and proprietary trading firms.

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is fundamental in the continued growth of the organization.  It is therefore essential that the Chief Technology Officer has a track record of building and leading exceptional engineering teams.

Chief Technology Officer - Director Level

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for leading a team to build market data and order execution connectivity to electronic trading venues globally

• Work with traders, exchange staff and compliance department to gather feature requirements that allows our trading strategies and platform to access the markets across several asset classes (equities, bonds, currencies, and commodities)

• Co-ordinate system development, implementation and testing, and to provide guidance on technology choices & architecture decisions

• Experience in developing client/server applications (including mobile apps)

• Provide in-house support and troubleshoot for end users

• Provide network support, including connectivity, IP addressing, direct TCP/IP output, and access control setting

• Knowledge of FIX, API and hands on experience of building applications that use it such as trading / market data gateway

• Software development in C++ in the context of high performance (low-latency, high-throughput) real-time computing

• A good knowledge of the Linux operating system (system calls, multi-threading, IPC, sockets)

• Experience of programming techniques used in HFT systems such as lock-less queues, circular buffer

  Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or related field

• 4 – 6 years of working experience in network design, trading system development and implementation

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in developing software in C and C++

• Good interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills 

• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems

• Fluent in English and Chinese (Mandarin is a must)
