Job Description

Salary: HK$29,785 to HK$61,860, plus 10% Year-end Incentive Payment

Main Duties

(i)

Conduct feasibility study for major system development/upgrade, business process re-engineering, planning and design, application and/or system programming, application configuration, system acceptance, technical support and quality assurance; in addition to provide ongoing usage support, defect fixing and minor enhancement of systems.

(ii)

Co-ordinate with relevant parties concerned, including users, service providers and computer operators, for systems development/implementation and maintenance/support;

(iii)

Communicate technical issues in business terms and deliver value using a pragmatic approach to the technical components/solutions;

(iv)

Assist to perform project/ contract/ vendor management;

(v)

Participate in procurement of IT systems, products and services;

(vi)

Provide technical support and advice on products/solutions;

(vii)

Provide training to users and team members on the use of IT product/solutions; and

(viii)

Perform any other IT-related duties as required.

 

Remarks : Successful candidates will be subject to posting to different IT streams when required.

 

Entry Requirements

(i)

(a)        A Hong Kong degree, or equivalent; or a higher diploma in Information Technology/ Engineering subjects from a local institution, or equivalent; and at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in IT fields; OR

(b)       A higher diploma in subjects other than Information Technology/ Engineering from a local institution, or equivalent; and at least 7 years’ post-qualification experience in IT fields;

(ii)

Level 2 (“Grade E” before 2007) or above in Chinese Language and English Language (“Syllabus B” before 2007) in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent;

(iii)

 

Post-qualification experience in the development, implementation and maintenance of a) web applications running on J2EE architecture, UNIX, Websphere Application Suite, or other open source products;  b) Native/Hybrid Mobile Apps; or c) SAP ECC 6.0 or above would be an advantage; and

 

(iv)

Experience, qualification and/or understanding in following or implementing various international IT industry standards in CMMI and/or ITSM / ITIL etc. would be an advantage.

Terms of Appointment

The appointment will be on Housing Authority regular terms of employment, with continuous employment being offered till an employee reaches the prevailing retirement age upon passing the probationary period. A competitive pay package, which is commensurate with the employee’s qualification and experience, will be offered. On top of the base salary, the employee may receive a year-end incentive payment at 10% of the total base salary received upon satisfactory completion of every full year of service. An employee who has completed no less than six months of service by the end of the first calendar year of his/ her employment may also receive a year-end incentive payment calculated on a pro-rata basis. The entry pay, terms of appointment and conditions of service to be offered are subject to the provisions prevailing at the time the offer of appointment is made.
