General Summary:

Monitor, advise and coordinate with nominated service providers as well as factory specialists, vendor/factory, other suppliers, and Merchandising teams on the design, technical details, color approvals, photography, print production and processing status of packaging

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Communicate with service provider on packaging specifications and technical details
• Compare designs provided by different design firms
• Verify packaging design draft provided by service provider and communicate to Merchandising teams, buyer and vendor/factory
• Prepare art templates and guidelines for vendor/factory follow-up on packaging artwork
• Educate vendor/factory to be compliant to company standard
• Check and approve packaging sample submitted by vendor/factory
• Conduct analysis on the combination and percentage of various packaging types and relative cost for season-to-season products
• Evaluate the possible impact of packaging cost on FOB price
• Plan and prioritize multi-projects and ensure all deadlines/schedules are maintained and met
• Evaluate existing packaging procedures and identify areas for improvement
• Assess performance of service provider; analyze the competitiveness of existing service provider by sourcing category

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English, Mandarin and Cantonese
• Good written and oral communications skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Excellent computer skills including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop applications
• Strong working knowledge of packaging materials, graphic design, packaging structural design, print production, packaging equipment capabilities and limitations, packaging regulatory requirements, etc.

Work Experience &/or Education: 

• Diploma/Degree in Packaging technology, or substantial industry experience in relevant field
• 3 years relevant experience in monitoring and coordinating packaging design and development
• Merchandising background will be considered
