Job Description

A newly set up buying office in Hong Kong with massive expansion. This is a new team and new headcount within the organization with lots of flexibility to grow. 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all supply related activities including monthly capacity reviews, on time deliveries, production sourcing strategies, and 5 year supply plan reviews by category.

• Establish lead-time calendars, manage order base to ensure on time delivery to DC and Wholesale & customers. Manage buys and lead monthly meetings and ad hoc meetings with sourcing offices to manage exceptions and minimize impact to the company

• Provide input on supplier performance and strategy execution.

• Creates and executes strategic projects supporting areas such as: Lead Time Reduction, Tariff & Duty Optimization, Cost Improvements, Multi Horizon Planning, Distribution Strategies, Inventory Flow Optimization, Inventory Reductions

• Ensure that the Business Intelligence Tool and reports enable supply chain analysis and reporting.

• Responsible for supporting monthly S&OP process including all related supply, inventory and customer service cross functional meetings

• Develops strategies to minimize any supply /supplier risks. Manages and meets airfreight budget.

• Manage, maintain and enhance HTS classification files, CTPAT compliance, customs brokers, direct-ship and DC by-pass programs and EDI Transmissions

• Documentation auditing in order to ensure import customs compliance globally

• Develop an annual purchasing plan, working with the Finance and Retail management teams on open to buy budgeting, determining proper inventory levels at all points in the supply chain, and a receiving schedule to ensure adequate product supply to all locations

• Work with factories, mills and agents to create flexible purchasing agreements allowing for delayed decision making around commitments for colors, sizes, destinations, labels, pricing, etc. Utilize multiple levels of order commitments from capacity projections, forecasts, material forecasts and commitments, bulk purchase orders and purchase orders

• Coaches and directs planning managers and their direct reports. Ensures that their performance plans meet organizational objectives. Develop a succession plan. Establishes performance expectations, skill and competency development plans for all associates in supply planning. Identifies talent gaps and implements improvement plans. Develop and motivate staff to achieve optimal performance

Requirements:  

• Bachelor’s degree in Management, Supply Chain, Engineering or similar field; MBA a plus. Continuing education for Supply Chain Management and or appropriate earned certifications (e.g. APICS) a strong plus.

• Previous consulting change management, or project management experience a plus

• 10+ years of transportation, logistics and purchasing experience in an established wholesale and retail environment –apparel, footwear and sporting goods experience preferred.

• 4+ years of people management experience
