Title: Merchandiser SDA

Proco Associates has partnered with a Specialty retailer seeking to expand its Far East Office and drive a direct importation program of Kitchen and home appliances. Responsibilities:

• Drive category sourcing strategy and product development program in the Small Domestic appliances and Kitchen and home electrical products category

• Manage critical path with existing supplier base on product programs, resolving issues, lead-times and managing negotiations and costing reviews

• Identify potential suppliers and evaluate potential manufacturers and deepen existing supplier relationships

• In line with global strategy develop product programs for specific markets

• Introduce innovation and contribute to process improvement projects in collaboration with Quality Assurance, Product Development, Production and Supply Chain Functions

• Supervise Assistant merchandisers and provide on job mentoring when necessary

Requirements:

• Degree qualified with 6+ years of solid experience in Buying Office for Major Brand or Retailer

• Experienced in sourcing OEM/ ODM partners for product development of SDA products

• Familiar with European markets - standard for electrical appliances

• Strong network of suppliers across Asia in home electrical appliances and cookware products

• Strong understanding of manufacturing process for household, kitchen electrical products

• Ability to think strategically, perform detail analysis and present findings to management

• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to interact effectively at all levels

• Fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, both written and spoken
